A Feast of Easter

Easter is fast approaching and I seem to be doing the catch up thing. We have been so busy with our move that I haven’t seemed to be able to stay organised. Hopefully, these school holidays will allow for this. If you are after some last minute ideas, check out my Pinterest board for Easter. Just click on the picture below to find some great ideas.

Pinterest Sharing #4 FATHER’S DAY

Father’s Day is fast approaching in our part of the world. I wanted to share with you some ideas of how you can make this an awesome day for Dad to remember.

We will hopefully being going to our favourite beach for breakfast and a play at the rock pools. Our kidlets will be making something at school and Kindy as well as making something with me. We do not buy big presents for these days. It is more about the time spent together and doing special things for dad.

One gift I wish I had got organised can be found at Poster Candy. You can head there, choose a design and upload your Instagram photos that get put into a poster. Once received you can frame it and voila, a poster of all your favourite photos.

Below is a link to my Pinterest Board where I have pinned ideas of things to make and do for dad on Father’s Day. Just click on the picture and it will take you to my board. Have a great Father’s Day.

On this board I pin ideas to do as a family. Pop along and have a browse. You will need a Pinterest account which is free and easy. Click on the picture below. Enjoy!!!

Pinterest Sharing #2

Time to share my second Pinterest board. I will say sorry now because once you head there and discover all the other boards, you will become addicted, like me. The first board I shared was about parenting and I mentioned I would be slowly sharing all of the others. This second sharing is a fun personal one. Beauty and the Beast is my collection of all the hair and beauty styles and products I come across and love. Clicking on each and then clicking the website could take you to new discoveries. Enjoy.

Pinterest Sharing #1

Have you discovered Pinterest? I have and sometimes I wish I hadn’t. Ok that is a white lie. I love Pinterest and can spend way to much time pinning. I finally got my husband on to it but he stopped following me as he cannot handle the overload when he opens up.

I do wander, however, if other like myself pin, pin, pin, pin and then never use half of the things on your boards. That hasn’t stopped me though. Over the last week or two I have started to get things in order.

I rearranged my boards so they were in alphabetical order and then decided I should start going through them and really seeing if what I have pinned is worthwhile. Quite a few pins are no longer available at websites or there is no stock available. The first board I decided to do an audit on was my board on Parenting. As I went through each pin, I kept it if useful and deleted the ones that didn’t offer as much as their title or weren’t user-friendly.

As our blog is about Sharing is Caring, I thought I would share my boards when I have finished auditing them. Feel free to re-pin or follow the boards as I share them.

ANZAC Day – 25th April

untitled

Next Thursday 25th April we celebrate ANZAC day.

According to the Australian War Memorial, “ANZAC Day – 25 April – is probably Australia’s most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.”

If you would like to read more information about this special day head to http://www.awm.gov.au/commemoration/anzac/anzac_tradition.asp

The kidlets always do activities at school (past teacher experience) to learn about this and we have a national holiday on that day. A tradition we started in our family is to make ANZAC biscuits on ANZAC day. I am going to make it as a slice this year.

I have also been looking for some other resources online to have some fun with the kidlets. Check out my pinterest board for some ideas I have found so far. Click on the picture below to take you there.

Gabbylocks has said that she wants to march this year so I will be taking her to the March on Thursday morning.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who grieve and remember lost ones on this remembrance day.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
 We will remember them.

Chef Compassion

Gabbylocks is in Year 1 this year and has an awesome teacher. In fact both Year 1 teachers are great. During this time of Lent the Year 1 classes are raising some money for others and are doing so in a very unique way.

They call it Chef Compassion.

Each child is on a roster. One their particular day they have to make or bake something to share with the rest of the class. The parents have to work through the procedural genre when preparing this so the students get an understanding of what a procedure is.

Once ready the rest of the class pay 20c for the product. Each child takes in $1 for the week. Gabby’s teacher made a gorgeous bookmark for each of the kids.

We are in constant discussion about what Gabby will do. She has so many ideas and cannot make up her mind. Tonight we are going to narrow it down to cooking or creating something. I am going to go through my Pinterest Board with Gabby, that contains sweet snacks and treats for children. As I was going through it I thought it might be fun to share it with you. Click on the link below and have a look.
